My name is Adam, I'm a 19 year old graphic design student from Newcastle studying at New College Durham. I've been interested in graphic design since I did in year 9 at High school and ever since I've always wanted to create more designs and improve my creative skills even more! So after I did graphics in year 9 I then went onto take it at GCSE level and came out with a B overall and out of all the subjects I took at GCSE level I felt graphic design was the one for me. So I took myself to Newcastle College where I did the national diploma in graphic design and after the 2 year course (coming out with Merit, Merit, Pass) I felt I had vastly improved my skills but also felt that they still weren't as good as they could be and also looking at my portfolio then it could be a lot lot better. After the long process of applying to universities I eventually got myself a place on the Foundation Degree in graphic design at New College Durham where I hope at the end of my time there I will have improved both my creative skills and my portfolio ready for the world of work.
Apart from the graphics I am heavily involved in Scouting something I've been involved with since I was 6 years old and joined the Beaver Scouts and I've gone all the way up and now I am an assistant Cub Scout leader, District Network leader and I also help out at the district Explorer Scout meetings. So its safe to say that Scouting is a big part of my life and has given me some great memories and hopefully more to come.
When I'm not helping with cubs or explorers or doing graphics work I tend to just chill out really play on the PlayStation or Xbox or some other random game that I can find and then either go out on nights out, I also have a season ticket a Newcastle United and go to a lot of there home games. As for languages I know some Swedish and that's about it. I don't know any French or German as you get taught in high school, the reason for this is I was never really any good at them although seems a little strange that I know some Swedish, which people would say is harder to learn. But I somehow I know some and remember some which is good I guess.
And there you go all you need to know about me really, how I got into graphic design and what I like to do in my spare time. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my work.
